From Friday to Wednesday my friend Thiago and I joined a team in Ouro Preto, where there
was a Carnaval festival going on.
This city is a very old Potuguese City a few hundred years old.
Carnaval is a place where a lot people come to party and drink and celebrate a pagan celebration.
So for 10 years YWAM has been taking a team to Ouro Preto to be a light in Christ to
a dark place. This was an amazing experience for me and all the team of 400 to 500 Christians that went to minister to around 50000 people. We have been welcomed by the local government to come and minister the Good News of Jesus Love to people in the city.
We had a marching parade where we played drums and sang to the crowds that Jesus Loves you, come to Jesus come to Jesus, Jesus is good, Jesus is King. The crowds joined in and sang with us and really received us, it was amazing!!
At night time we would go on the streets and minister and share about Jesus to teenagers, children and adults. We had a church where we would invite people to receive free counseling for
there life. Counseling is a big thing in Brazil. Many people received Jesus Christ as their Savior on the streets and in the counselling. We also had dance and drama teams performing on a main street where many people watched and were moved by the experience and connected with ywam ministers. In the basement of the church we had worship and prayer to God, going on all
night into the morning this was so powerful!!!!! The fire of the prayer and worship really opened up God to move through us to minister. Many of us were deeply impacted in the worship and prayer. The outreach was called Impact by the way.
It was really cool for me too because I got to share my personal story of How Jesus saved and delivered me from a destructive life. I had translaters who conveyed my story. myself and a friend personally got to lead one young guy to the Lord. And several others that We had spoke to received counselling and some received Christ. Praise the living Savior Jesus Christ!
We can safely say that we saw hundreds receive counseling and saw probably in the hundreds receive Christ.
What an awesome time in Christ for us all!
Bless you in Jesus Grace and Father's Love

Well I have been here in Belo Horizonte for 5 days now!
We have been cleaning up and setting up the outreach house
for the last few days. There has been construction going on here.
The house of rock where I am staying is in a one of the biggest slums in Belo Horizonte.
The city has about 3 million people in it. What we have been setting up for is children and youth who come to daily programs we put on in the morning and afternoon. These children live in dangerous neighborhood and come from poor families and broken homes.
I went on a visit to meet locals and there children the other day in the favala (slum).
This weekend I will be going with a team to another city an hour or 2 away, where we will be ministering and sharing the great news of Jesus! at a country wide festival called the Carnivel.
So this should be a great experience.
I have some friends at the base who speak English and Portuguese.
Its great cause I am learning Portuguese and I can communicate to locals with them.
The other night Chiago, Helen (staff/ friends) and myself went out to a spot in the city where street kids congrigate. We met up with another group of Ywamer's.
They go down there to play soccer with the kids and minister to them.
Helen and I met a little boy there named Lucas. He looked like he was about 9 or 10 years old but he told us he was 12. The kids were sniffing paint thinner to get high and forget there problems of living on the street. Helen and I began to talk to Lucas and ask him what he likes to do for fun and what his dreams in life were.
He said He wanted to learn in school and one day be married and have a house. We ask him if he
wanted to live with christian people who would love him and take care of him.
He said yes. This was a very moving experience for the three of us and we let him know that we would visit him and help him to get off the street.
A lot of the kids run away from home because of abuse.
I really felt that God had a purpose for us to meet Lucas.
And it gave me a glimpse of how God wants to bring deliverance and love to so many kids just like Lucas on the streets of Brazil and all over the World!
Thanks for reading and may God bless you with His Grace and Love.

Belo Horizonte country side.
Last early evening I flew into Belo Horizonte from Sao Paulo.
My first impressions of Brazil was, this is a beautiful country!!
Belo Horizonte is a very green hilly terain, beautiful landscape.
When I was on the bus from the Belo. airport to the city I saw a small
plane landing at another airport in a beautiful green valley.
It really spoke to me, I don't know exactly what.
Probably something of flying in on God Grace in a small ministry
plane. I am learning a little of the language from my roommate Marcos and
the rest of the team here. Very friendly and helpful bunch.
Bless ya all! From Belo Horizonte!
